About Us

In this modern edge, the role of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) is becoming prominent in influencing political, economic, and social policies to the advantage of community development, creation of awareness and supporting the participation of citizens in the national issues. The civil society organizations play a decisive role by complementing what has not been addressed by the government and influence the relationship positively between the government and the society, more particularly on the issues of socio-economic development through community development program.
In this view, Bright Future Ethiopia Development and Charity Association (BFE) is a non-profit, non- governmental organization established with the aim of Empowering the most unreached section of the community (orphan and vulnerable children, people with disabilities, youth, small farm holders, elderly people, women, people of low economic status, etc.) irrespective of any differences for better resilient life.

BFE established by Mr.Sanka Sepe and his family on April 2016.The Vision to establish BFE had come to the mind of Mr. Sanka Sepe when he was working for World Vision Ethiopia (WVE) in the Omosheleko Area development programme in 2007. He had been critically observing how the implementation different projects by organizations had been excluding communities (lately he called the unreached) section of the community. In 2014 this had been fueled by his day-to-day observation of the community in the rural areas of Yaya Gullele while he was living with his family. In September 2014 when he was taking his first daughter, Feven Sanka, to register for pre-school he observed that the school situations were not suitable for children. Then he said “my daughter may not attend in such school however many other children worthto safe and clean school”. Further, he started to assess the existent of the problem of the unreached section of the community such as orphan and vulnerable children, elderly people, women, and people with disability, etc. and working on strategies how to address them. He was praying for long period of time with his wife (Firehiwot Belay) and other family members on the situation in front of the Almighty Lord.

Then he shared the vision to his most beloved Mum Franny Treurniet (The founder and Secretary of Food for All of the Netherlands, FFA). She was bringing clothes from Holland and Sanka was distributing it to the needy people in his own rented house compound and by travelling to the rural needy households with government peoples, community representatives and the church leaders in Yaya Gullele district.

The in kind support from Mum Fran was increasing from time-to-time and strengthened the vision of Sanka in addressing the needy people. Then Mum Franny has connected him with Mr.Loekopejan, the former Director of Stichting ZIJN, who visited schools in Yaya Gullele district in the beginning of 2015. TheStichting ZIJN was very kind to improve the situation of the schools especially in Kindergarten and primary division and FFA was willing to work on improving the situation of the unreached section. Finally, Mr. Loe and Mum Franny suggested to establish NGO to achieve his vision. After two years of rigorous work BFE have been established and registered by Federal Republic of Ethiopia Charity and Society Agency as Ethiopian resident charity Association in accordance with Charity and Society Proclamation no. 621/2009 on April 21, 2016. In addition to this, BFE has been certified, re-registered and accorded legal personality with registry number 3618 on August 14, 2019 as legal local civil organization in accordance with civil society organizations proclamation no.
